The Card Reader From The Future

August 15, 2018 in article

Transcend USB 3.0 Super Speed Type-C Multi-Card Reader

I just want to say what a pleasure it is to use the Transcend USB 3.0, card reader. To be able to use a product that just gets straight to the point actually works, and actually lasts. I love this card reader because of its endurance but also because of its price point it practically sells itself. Honestly, sometimes I think this is the card reader from the future.

Originally it was an impulse purchase due to desperately needing to replace my old card reader that gave up on life right when I needed it. This beauty has turned out to be my preferred way to transfer my photos and video to my laptop and desktop computers.

I already have an SD card reader built into the side of my MacBook Pro, although I will still go and find my Transcend USB 3.0 to back up every time I'm on the fly. I cannot fault it.

Sure if I drop this bad boy off the side of a cliff, its probably going to break it. However, if you have this card reader rolling around your camera bag or on your desk, it's sure going to last. Really, it's an absolute honour to use, it just does what it's meant to do. It's fast and durable for all my USB transfers.

There's nothing extra to say, you're not meant to give it too much of your time anyway, and that's why I recommend it because I just don't need to worry about it playing up in those crucial moments. This is super important if a client is over your shoulder waiting to see the photos before everyone goes home.

I have included a list of all the main technical aspects for your convenience, more importantly, to double-check it meets your personal requirements encase your set up is different from mine.

  • Super-Speed USB 3.0 interface

  • Supports SDHC UHS-1, SDXC UHS-1, UDMA6/UDMA7 CF and MSXC cards

  • LED card insertion/data transfer activity indicator

  • USB powered (no external power or battery needed)

  • Offers a free download of RecoveRx data recovery software

  • Two-year Limited Warranty available from Amazon

One thing I really love about this simple yet robust device is that I can import all my different cards at once, helping me increase productivity and my overall speed in delivering content to clients. It's the small things that make big differences.

It's worth mentioning that if you purchase this item through my Amazon Affiliate links bundled with relevant items such as card readers and new SD or CF cards in the checkout, they offer great deals. Make sure you get the best equipment possible, it's not about spending all your money but spending it smartly.

I hope you get as much use out of this sweet gadget as I do!
